Previously known as Downfall, after changing their name to Blackstar Halo, this band wanted to release "bigger" promo photos to corroborate the name change and the upcoming album. The shots needed the same touch as the first music video of the album; visuality mixed with fiction and traditional rock attitude.

The shots were taken at the same place as the video for the song 'Illuminated'. With a Canon EOS 5D Mk II as the camera, a few lighting fixtures and the costumes known from the video, the band was photographed during sunset in the midst of cold November. Each and every photo consists of nearly a hundred different elements of flames, smokes and other effects which were photographed later without the band.
